“La Réserve”

The prodigious inventor and former owner of Château de l’Eclair, Victor Vermorel, left us an invaluable legacy.

In 1891, the estate included an area called ‘La Réserve’ that he worked himself. This ‘Réserve’, which he regarded as a demonstration plot, was used to put into “practice methods that were recognised as being good and that vinegrowers were hesitant to use”.

This cuvée is crafted to honour him and brings ancestral know-how and modern techniques together. For really great vintages, it is also bottled in magnums.

Tasting Note

  • Eye : deep shiny red, jammy red fruit (strawberry), lovely concentration when served young
  • Nose : fter a few years’ cellaring, ruby tints, notes of fruit in brandy, nuances of spice and great length on the palate
